The Feast and Fast Exhibition

The Feast and Fast exhibition and Rowan  Rowan is an established Cambridge based arts centre and charity for adults with learning disabilities, which is now in its 36th year. Rowan’s student artists live in Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area.   Using the arts, Rowan seeks to provide a safe, creative and enriching environment where the student artists can grow, raising their abilities, confidence and self-esteem. Rosalind’s JoGLE diary

Rosalind’s JoGLE diary  Day 1 – Tuesday 24th March And it’s a beautiful sunny day as I start the first leg of my 950 mile journey (eek!).  The chestnut tree outside my window is unfurling the first fledgling leaves.  I wonder what beauties it will be displaying by the time I reach Lands End?  (here’s hoping it’s not red and gold leaves!). Today is a regular workout day so 20 minutes (plus 5 minute cool down) on Lifecycle bike hill program at level 12.  Sister Sledge are belting out ‘We are family’ reminding me we are all in this together.  I need to keep an eye on my fitness levels. Ceilidh success for 35 year celebration!

Ceilidh success for 35 year celebration!  Happy birthday to us! We celebrated 35 years at the Guildhall on Friday 8 November with a ceilidh and mini-auction raising a fantastic amount that will continue to support our student artist bursary.   The evening was filled with great food, good fun, lots of dancing, as well as a raffle and auction. Local artist Samantha Ellis donated an amazing interpretation of London’s Oxford Street for the auction. As Sam says: ‘Nothing fills me with the Christmas spirit quite like a walk down an illuminated Oxford Street, with yuletide music coming from every doorway. A truly wonderful place for our
