Rowan creates a lasting memory

Rowan creates a lasting memory The woodwork team at Rowan, tutors and student artists together, have created a new welcome sign for Milton Country Park and it is now in situ just a year after the project was commissioned. The sign was commissioned by Peter Garside and is dedicated to the memory of his wife Pauline who passed away in 2016. Fun at Appleday!

Fun at Appleday!  Thank you to Darwin Nurseries for inviting Rowan along to their Appleday event this week. Our stall was a great success selling artwork made by our student artists including apple themed badges. We also had our students come along from Rowan to join in with the activities, meet the animals and get involved in a fantastic day. Bring on the next one!  “I enjoyed coming to Darwin today as I have never been.”  “I liked looking around and trying the apples – I liked the chocolate covered ones.”

Game of Thrones…

The throne itself came together through the hard work of the woodwork team and student artists. Alongside this we had many

Rowan’s River Cam Project

Rowan’s River Cam Project  Thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund our students have been able to spend time researching contemporary and historical aspects of the heritage of the River Cam. Earlier this year, Shelley Lockwood and Hilary Cox Condron from ‘Capturing Cambridge’ visited Rowan, and helped to train several of the students in the technique of oral history recording.  Some of the students have interviewed people associated with the river, as well as local people
