Rowan is now running a variety of relaxed, friendly and enjoyable art courses for the wider community in evenings with spaces available.

Four week course from Friday 27th April to Friday 18th May 2018.

Ceramics – 10 week course

Tuesdays 17:30 to 19:30 – Randella Handley Fully booked
Thursdays 19:00 to 21:00 – Andrea Van Kleef Fully booked
Both Randela and Andrea are experienced potters with a wealth of knowledge and skills to pass on.

We have 6 wheels in our ceramics studio for throwing pots as well as space for hand building and a technician available to deal with firing our 4 kilns. The course fee includes the cost of clay, glazes and firing. Cost £140

Ceramics – Untutored Group

Wednesday 15:45-17:45 Fully booked

For this class previous experience is beneficial. Work in a group to create your own beautiful work as a gift for others or something for yourself. Cost £80.00

Stained Glass – 10 week course

Wednesdays 19:00 to 21:00 – Jill Fordham Limited spaces available 

On this ten week evening course, learn the ancient craft skills, of stained glass, which still apply to contemporary art.. Come and be inspired by ancient and modern glass artists and then design, choose, cut, and assemble your own vibrant and stunning works of art in stained glass. There will be opportunities to do some glass painting and possibly fusing depending on booking kiln space. You will make a panel of approximately 30 x 30 cm. Tools will be provided. There will be a materials cost of roughly £30.00 , depending on what you choose to order. No experience is needed, but support is also offered to those with previous experience. The tutor is happy to discuss your ideas for your own project in advance if you have any questions. You can park in Humberstone Road, space is usually available in the evenings, or there is a service alley at the back of Rowan Humberstone. Cost £140.
