Student Information and Opportunities
Through the medium of art, Rowan is dedicated to provide a safe, creative and unique environment where our students can work alongside and under the tutorage of skilled artists and craftspeople in the production of quality artwork and take part in music and drama.
Rowan is a vibrant and active part of the art community in Cambridge; we take part in a number of exhibitions throughout the year to showcase and sell our art and crafts as well as performances for our music and drama students.
Our students, all adults with learning disabilities, have a choice of woodwork, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, mixed media and the performing arts. Rowan is open Monday to Friday (09:00 to 15:00) for 50 weeks of the year. Weekly half-day and full-day student places are available.
We offer Taster Sessions for prospective students, to experience daily studio activities for themselves before making a decision. This enables us to assess a student’s needs, how they fit in with the environment and with other students and whether we can meet the needs of a potential student. Places in studios are subject to availability and suitability of the group. Places are available!
Students need to bring a packed lunch, we offer free coffees and teas and we have a tuck shop. We do not provide personal care, if required personal 1 to 1 support must accompany the student but we do have wheelchair access to the whole building.
Please note that due to Covid-19 our building has been temporarily closed. We are now taking steps to reopening which you can read in full here.
If you wish to find out more about becoming a student please contact Abi Moore on firstname.lastname@example.org.
